Grandparents, parents & siblings honoured through Art
This week, we concluded the winter term with an Open House for parents and extended family. Feeling a bit exhausted yet excited, I nicely arranged the art studio for the occasion. Below some photos!
On Mondays, part of the curriculum was to honour the kids' grandparents. It warmed my hear to see some of them coming to visit us. I captured this moment with a photo that resumes the vision I had for this whole term! Marli, a young student in Kindergarten chose to portrait her grandpa in this clay sculpture (shown in this photo).

Some other beautiful clay sculptures done with the kids honored their grandmothers, mothers, fathers, and cousins. Below are some great photos of their work!
The high light of the term was the Family Portrait. I always like the painting component of my clases because it is done on the floor, while playing music. On the table, there were many colours to choose from, but I was amazed by how the kids wanted to create their own colours by mixing all kind of shades into new ones.
These are some examples of the beautiful Family Portraits!

Thursday Mixed Media Art Class
These photos display happy kids after the painting was done. However, many kids faced challenges while painting, especially struggling to get the facial features right. After some tears and tantrums, with guidance and perseverance, they overcame their frustrations and compromised to complete the artwork. I was very proud of them!
