LOUDER

Video Art

Each video art series explores the artist’s ongoing search for voice, a process of listening, understanding, and strengthening it as life presents challenges and tests. Jazmín, the artist’s alter ego, once confined to the books, becomes lively, bold, and real.

Using paper, video clips, clay, and photocopied backgrounds, the artist employs animation and typography, echoing the style of old films, to bring Jazmín’s voice playfully to life.

Some clips may contain coarse language, nudity, depictions of violence, or references to suicide.

Viewer discretion is advised.

Videos edited with sound will pop up in a separate window.

If you don’t stop screaming, I’ll leave

In a home where shouting replaces lullabies, young Jazmín retreats to her quiet room, a safe place amid the chaos. Each night, as her parents’ arguments echo through the door, she imagines “escape plans” with her Snoopy suitcase. This playful ritual becomes her voice of comfort, carrying her away from reality.
